In short: A good race spoilt In full: Not only did our name not appear in the brochure in the list of participants but her chip time didn't record either so she'll never know whether she got the PB she was after and which she's worked hard for. Very disappointing from a highly rated half marathon. Date of review: October 1, 2012

2012 Water of Life Half-Marathon *FULL*
 | | Overall score | | 80% | | Would you do it again? | | Yes | | | | Details: | | Scenery | | 100% | | PB potential | | 60% | | Atmosphere | | 80% | | Organisation | | 80% | | Value | | 80% | | Beginner-friendliness | | 60% |
In short: One for the scenery junkies In full: The route follows the river most of the way. Drums around half way were nice touch and a bit of fun. I think if you were looking at trimming your PB by a minute or two, then I think the crowding at the bridges and gates would be enough to take that possibility away. I bettered my time by 35 minutes, so wasn't an issue. There are a few drags, but I wouldn't call them hills. If you couldn't see it went uphill, you wouldn't know- that kind of steepness.
Weather was scorching, but if it was wet, you'd want trail shoes, because almost the whole route is on grass/ pathways.
Overall, I loved it and the organisation is good. Goody bag was ok- water, fruit, medal and a t- shirt.
