In short: Fabulous route, BIG hills, more toilets and some distance markers next time please!
In full: I can't even guess how long it took to put all those orange ribbons round what felt like the whole of Surrey to mark out the route. It was a gargantuan task to mark out and felt like one to complete the route too (we hadn't trained, I did a half marathon last week, but there is an exponential difference between 13.1 and 25 miles!) Unfortunately, some nasty locals sabotaged a bit of the signage, so we ended up doing 42K instead of 40K but that isn't the organisers' fault.

Overall a lovely event, small but it is in its first year and the marshalls at the drinks point were friendly with lots of water/fruit to go around, despite being advised to bring your own.

Major gripe was the lack of toilet facilities at the start (one per gender). Minor gripe is that there weren't any distance markers. Nice medals and t-shirts considering it was a charity event.

If you do not know the area, it is HILLY. And the hills get steeper as you go round the course. You have been warned!! Not sure I will do it again, but if I don't I will be volunteering as a marshall because this event deserves to do well. Toilets permitting!
