In short: Fast course with stunning scenery. Good organisation.
In full: Joining instructions were clear and concise. Parking space was abundant and cheap. I was a bit wary about having to queue for timing chips on the day, but the distribution was well organised and efficient. The start was a bit congested - but that's true for most races. The course profile was ideal - gently undulating first half, followed by a mostly flat second half. The scenery was absolutely stunning - especially on the second half. The atmosphere was good - loved the drummers in Torrington, could hear them a mile away! Excellent support in the closing stages, with a nice flat and straight last 400 metres - perfect for that final surge. All in all, a great race - and one I hope to do again.

In short: Superb event with an excellent atmosphere
In full: OK, so the start was a bit crowded - but with chip timing this didn't matter, and the roads in the first mile are wide enough to allow the field to stretch out without any slowing or congestion - no surprise that the first mile was almost my fastest, when it usually is the slowest. Brilliant scenery, nice undulating course with a great view towards the finish as you crest the top of Stonegallows hill. My timing chip was eaten by the Royal Mail sorting machines, but the race team were well on top with a replacement chip ready to pick up on the day - this is typical of the excellent organisation of this event. The locals were out in force - even right out in the sticks between Oake and Bradford. Super atmosphere. Definitely worth the 200 mile journey to Somerset.

In short: Challenging half, great organisation, masochistic final 400 metres :-(
In full: My third time on this course, I think this year was the most enjoyable yet. A PB for me, but that's more down to training discipline than the course. Although a bit cold at the start the weather was ideal for me as I am prone to overheating - so I welcomed the snow showers! Really well marshalled with lots of encouragement from spectators. The incline out of the gorge is a good test of stamina, definitely aided this year by the RAF Cosford contingent - thanks for the encouragement guys! There's only two 'downs' to this race - the overcrowding at the start as you get on to the narrow footpath, and the testing incline in the last 400 metres. Overall though, a super race - thanks again Telford Harriers!

In short: Fast course with a few drawbacks
In full: Nice fast course, although I think PB potential is a tad over-rated. Congested at the start, the mid field took a good mile to thin enough for overtaking. Paths a bit narrow, although if everyone keeps to the left that it is less of a problem. A bit slippery in places - thank goodness it wasn't icy this year! Plenty of parking space, the start was easy to get to. Handy arena/track for warming up, right next to the start. A bit cramped at the finish for spectators. Organisation and marshalling was good. Atmosphere OK.

In short: Want a PB? Do this one!
In full: Excellent race, spoilt only by the heat - but that's out of our hands lol. A PB for me, even though I was overheating in the last 3 miles.
