In short: Great - but sad to have no medal after all the wind and hills!
In full: The organisers deserve a medal for listening to lots of the suggestions/criticism from last year and making excellent adjustments. Start much better; no mile markers missing; end much smoother; better variety at pit stops; parking smooth. Not their fault it was so windy! But PLEASE CAN WE HAVE MEDALS! They needn't cost a fortune but so many of us runners love something hanging round our necks to mark our achievement, especially on a day like today when the weather made is hard going at times. Why not a cheap and cheerful medal AND a T-Shirt? A small local 10K near where I live manages that? Many thanks to organisers and marshalls - I thought you all did a splendid job.

In short: Inspiring setting for PB attempt
In full: I found the Olympic rowing course inspiring. The flat predictable course made for a great PB attempt - and I took 90 seconds off my previous best.

In short: Even a bad trip couldn't spoil this special race
In full: Well organised and usual lovely scenery. I tripped over one of the moped hazards just after mile 5 and had a bad fall. Marshall and other runners were very solicitous of me. And at the finish a race organiser really looked out for me and got me to St John's A tent. Thank you! A poor time but a big sense of satisfaction to finish after blood streaming down my leg and hand.

In short: Fantastic race - could be improved even more with some minor tweaks
In full: The course ran through beautiful countryside full of the bloom of spring. At one point a huge buzzard took off from the field next to the route and hovered, as if wondering whether to join in. More prosaically - at the start the parking was slow and could have been signposted better from the Motorway junction. On the other hand there were rugby crowd toilets in abundance. The course was fantastic - lovely country, some hills but nothing too oppressive. Lots of support too. At the end, the final extended 50m round a plastic bollard felt amateurish and interrupted a serious attempt at a strong finish. Signs indicating 800m, 400m and 200m to go would have helped enormously. And the mile markers for 6,7,8, and 9 were either stolen or invisible. But overall a wonderful experience, I got a PB and more important had a really good time. Definitely back next year, maybe for Marathon.
