In short: First time half marathon - fantastically challenging but worth it's weight in gold In full: As a first timer to the half marathon I knew this would be a really tough challenge. The course was undulating, very muddy and a real test of physical and mental strength. Nevertheless, despite the final tremendous 200m climb to the Tower, the view really does makes it all worthwhile. The stewards were fantastic and thanks to Brian in his role as sweeper, I had company to get me through the last tough few miles and up those killer stairs before the descent to the finish. A truly wonderful experience and I had even decided before finishing to enter again next year! Date of review: March 19, 2012
