In short: Great course, great organisation
In full: After the disaster of last year's short course the organisers made up for it this time with a flawless race.

The course was fairly fast, wide and appropriate for the volume of runners. To the people who have complained about it not being "scenic" or using the parks - going through the parks (with their narrow paths) is not appropriate for a race of this size as was clearly illustrated last year. If you're looking for scenery rather than a race I recommend trying the open top bus instead.

To the people claiming the course was long due to their garmin - you need to realise that your garmin is not a precision race measuring instrument. Quite apart from the possibility that you may not have run the racing line, a garmin is likely to give you at least a 1% error, or 0.13 of a mile. The error can be amplified by things like a twisty course satellite locations on the day.

A garmin reading long is actually an indication that a course is accurate, if it had measured exactly 13.1 miles i would have suspected a short course.

Think things through before you moan on forums!

In short: Ruined by idiot organisers who didn't bother getting the distance right
In full: Potential to be a very fast course but the race was ruined by the organisers who couldn't get he distance right. They then came up with a pathetic excuse about scaffolding.

In short: Pleasantly located, well organised and good value undulating trail run
In full: Very nice location in Sherwood forest. The course is up and down but has no major hills and is all on stoney trails. Expect to be at least 1.5-2 minutes slower than on a 10k road race. Faultless organisation. Highly recommended, a nice change from road races.

In short: Pretty good pretty quick 10 Miler
In full: Quite a fast course, usual lack of toilets causing long queues. Usual pointless medal and a bit expensive. Not bad though I'd do it again.

In short: Enjoyable race let down slightly by shoddy organisation.
In full: Good fast course with some slight undulations. Organisation could have been better. They decided to make several 1000 people squeeze through a narrow opening into quite a small baggage tent. No suitable area for gathering out of the rain pre race either. The start was a mass of confusion with people squeezed into a very narrow start and slow runners entering the start from the front. The markers for estimated time were way off with 1:10 way back. I asked one of the organisers where the front was and he told me "back there", well after going in the direction he pointed I discovered it was exactly where he was standing!

Once the race was underway though all was forgotten and I had a great run and a big PB.

No "goody" bag just a useless metal round thing. I suppose some people must like these "medals" but I would have preferred a recovery drink or something myself!

In short: Fun well organised trail race
In full: Did this last year and no complaints again. Well organised with plenty of marshals. Undulating course with plenty of mud and puddles this year.

In short: Well organised but over priced chip timed 10k with traffic hazards. One not too challenging hill that is enough to make it a non PB course
In full: The Good:
No problems with the organisation
Chip timed
Accurately measured
Funny PA man who talked non stop

The Bad:
Is not traffic free and the run is along busy roads which can slow you down and be dangerous
Expensive for the kind of race it is
No "goodies" just a drink and usual pointless medal

Who was the old guy in the tennis shoes who decided to start right at the front blocking me and then start plodding along at just above walking pace??

In short: Terrible race nearly everything they could get wrong they did
In full: I entered this because they claimed it was flat and a "100%" accurate course. I was very disappointed.
- Had to wait in a queue of cars for half an hour at the start to park
- 2 toilets for 300-400 people
- No km markers
- Course was VERY inaccurate, around 600m. I think they changed the course at the last minute due to rowers taking priority or something and got the distance wrong, completely unacceptable when we have paid £15 for a 10km race!
- Runners had to double back and face other runners on a narrow path at a few points.

I RECOMMEND AVOIDING F3 EVENTS RACES AT ALL COSTS!
