In short: Mostly club runners but very welcoming and good crowds, we'll be back next year!!
In full: Our first ten mile race and we really enjoyed it. Very well organised and marshalled. Being told by one marshall 'go on, there's a nice bottle of beer waiting' half a mile from the end was wonderful news - and he wasn't joking! Knowing that you've got the one major hill out of the way at the start is reassuring, and of course means it's mostly downhill at the end. My two minor niggles (not complaints) were that there could have been more toilets, and a medal would have been nice for the collection.

In short: Although not a beginner's race because of difficulty, a great welcoming well-organised day means I'm sure I'll be back for mroe
In full: A brilliant experience for my first ever half marathon. Despite the heat (what can you do?) and the hills (fully anticipated), a great atmosphere and a beautiful course made this a brilliant experience.

The organisers did a grand job preparing for the hot weather - although bigger tables/more water at the stations wouldn't have gone amiss - it was frustrating to have to queue up. That was my only niggle and I'm sure on other occasions without such heat it wouldn't be such a problem.

I totally agree with other reviews that the provisions laid on both during and after the race were much more valuable and appreciated than anything in a goodie bag.

In short: Will be back to see if we can beat the mud next time
In full: A halfway goal for me towards my first half marathon, this 10K race was my first, and I was surprised by the difficulty of the hills (having been described as undulating, I'd say this was definitely "hilly' but perhaps I have yet to experience worse!). But I still thoroughly enjoyed it, and didn't get too disheartened by having to walk for short periods. Great scenery, and a friendly atmosphere, I didn't feel intimidated as a newbie.
