In short: Reasonable event In full: The start of the race is lovely, through the centre of town and then to the river but when you turn to go back to Kingston it's a fairly tedious slog down a main road with no road closures.
Well orgainsed marshalls and timing, lots of free food at the end but not a great course. Date of review: October 9, 2012
In short: Beautiful race In full: Lovely 10k around the grounds of Polesden Lacey house. I went hoping to get a PB but soon realised that this was a vain hope as the hills started rolling in. A pretty punishing series of inclines which reminded me of cross country courses of my youth. Well marshalled and signed, would very much do it again. Date of review: October 9, 2012
In short: Great race, very well organised indeed In full: My first marathon, and probably my last. Start and finish on the race course, all roads with some unpleasant inclines at the end. Best thing was the atmosphere, helpful and encouraging marshalls and meeting the other runners.
Having closed roads makes it an easy race to enjoy. If I wanted to do another marathon this is the one I'd do again.
