In short: Good city-centre 10K, killer hill at the end! In full: There and back route from the city centre to Hillsborough, slightly boring route but decent crowd support along the way. The majority of the route is flat but unfortunately the last 2K is mainly uphill which can be a bit of a killer at that stage, perhaps tricky to get a PB for that reason. Well-organised. In short: More of a trail run than a road race In full: 2 laps of a mixed course around Endcliffe park, partly on roads/ tarmac paths and partly on grass and narrow, mud paths. Thankfully it was dry this year but I can imagine the route would be very slippy in places with any rain. There are a few bottlenecks where runners have to slow to a walk, overtaking is also tricky on large sections and the underfoot conditions are uneven in parts. A reasonable training run (if a little expensive at £18) but certainly not one for beating your PB.
Some of the info on the RW Event Profile is inaccurate btw; there are no distance markers and they do accept entries on the day. Date of review: September 25, 2012
