In short: Good 5k course but no chip
In full: Did the 5k since fancied a shorter distance this time. Generally good course, but narrow start and the tight turn at half way slowed things down a little.

Great weather given the last few weeks, although fresh head wind on the way back.

Good organisation at start and end, although goody bag was just a drink. Maybe there's more for the 10k runners - I'll find out in April since booked on this.

Biggest gripe, though, was no chip for the 5k for reasons entirely unclear. Maybe they thought of it as a fun race, but some just want to do 5k every now and then and besides everyone wants to know their actual time, whether doing it faster or as a first race. Nothing in the event details to indicate this so a bit of a let down on the day.

My gps watch said 4.9k.

In short: Lovely location, good atmosphere
In full: My first 10k so not much to judge it by, other than other sports events I or the kids have been involved in.

I thought it was a nice, mixed course. Very enjoyable. I expect for those a lot faster than me it could have been frustrating, with kissing gates and single file sections, but that's pretty clear in advance from the comments from previous years.

Quite hot.

Quite warm
