In short: Once again an excellent, well organised race In full: This is probably the best local 10k. It is well organised from start to finish. The course is a bit challenging in places which makes it more interesting - you probably won't be getting a pb out of this race. I like the way that PWR make proper use of the chip timing by setting runners off in batches according to ability - other race organisers take note! The marshalling was brilliant. Plenty of friendly marshals at the right places. The big electronic clock at 5k was a nice touch. How about seconding friends and relatives next year to do the marshalling and letting some more of the Petts Wood Runners compete too? See you all next year. Date of review: October 18, 2012

2012 Orpington 10K

In short: Reasonably challenging. Good marshalling. Didn't like the choke points. In full: This is a good race with some reasonably challenging parts. The only down side is the choke points - mainly the gate at the beginning, but also a few paths and tracks on the fields. However, I think an easy solution would be to send off the runners in batches with the quickest going first. You've got chip timing now so the clock doesn't start ticking until you cross the line. Petts Wood used this system last year in their 10K. See you next year. Date of review: July 4, 2012
