In short: Very well organised race with excellent atmosphere In full: Well done to Toby and the team for organising the inaugural Surrey Half.
The communications building up to the event were excellent and the app worked really well in terms of communicating all necessary info.
The supporters, marshals and St. Johnners were all fantastic too and in all the day was thoroughly enjoyable - I've already booked my place in the 2015 race.
Just a couple of areas to improve on for next year. 1) The starting pens didn't work and there were no organisers around to police that bit, thus slower runners were in faster pens wanting to get going but actually just caused bottle necks in the first couple of miles. 2)I was really surprised not to have been given a banana or something to eat at the end, quite happy not to have the usual goody bag as they're mostly full of unwanted leaflets but some form of sustenance is really needed. 3) Finally and this might just be me, I'm really not convinced about the headband :)
To echo my early sentiments this was an excellent day and I highly recommend you sign up for next year.
Well done and thank you. Date of review: March 10, 2014
In short: a very muddy cross country 10K - harsh swampiness! In full: A good race for a GREAT cause but I do think the marshals could have been vaguely happy and supportive, I know it was coming down in buckets but some encouragement would have been welcome - nice medal though :) Date of review: November 4, 2012
