In short: Mud glorious mud! In full: First Bewl water marathon but third marathon in 5 weeks! Went in completely open minded and didn't care about time! Had been told it was tough by a few people but apart from the concentrating on not slipping over and the hill at mile 12/24 thought it was very pleasent!
I think I ran from mile 19 - 22 without seeing anyone and did start thinking some git had changed the signs around! Nice downhill finish and even got offered a half eaten cheese and pickle sandwich by one of the Marshall!
Will defiantly be back next year! Date of review: May 11, 2014
In short: I beat the hills...Just! In full: I had read a few reviews on this race from last year so I knew it would be hilly but they were tough! My only issue was no distance markers but apart from that a great bit of bling at the end and stuning surroundings. Apologies to the bloke at the end who tried giving me a medal but I did just needed to puke after that sprint finish.... that I lost! Date of review: June 24, 2013
In short: Fast, Friendly and well organised In full: Fast course ideal for a PB and also any beginner! The scenery wasn't up to much but we were on a industrial estate next to the M25 so I wasn't expecting meadows with fluffy sheep running around! Very well organised and will defiantly be back next year Date of review: October 1, 2012
In short: Hilly! In full: My home town race and ran it for the first time. Very hilly but I knew that already. Running t-shirt with registration and a medal. All round good course but challenging. I'll be back next year Date of review: September 18, 2012
In short: Quick & Friendly In full: I really enjoyed this race in the hottest conditions I ever run in. Beat my personal best when I was happy at just getting round without stopping. Don't understand not being allowed to have MP3's and I did miss not being able to run to my favorite Spice Gurls track! (Spice up your life) Also could have had more distance markers and chip timing but very friendly helpful marshalls and will be back next year.... I just hope it rains! In short: Friendly and challenging! In full: Brilliant 10k race with a lot of up and downs! I knew about the hill at the end from last years reviews but I didn't expect my lungs to hurt so much whilst tackling it! Some how smashed my PB by over a minute so I must have done something right! Thankful I didn't get beaten by the pirate but think the tortilla wrap may have beaten me! Only complaint was not enough ketchup on my burger! Overall very well organised and the wife and I will return next year. Date of review: September 2, 2012
In short: Fast,Friendly and brilliant for beginners In full: After quiting Sunday league football to take up running this was my first 10k race and I wish I had done it years ago. Nice surrounding, friendly and well organised. Was really good to see so many team runners as I didn't know what to expect but I will defiantly be back next year and the wife has even hinted she wouldn't mind ago! Date of review: July 17, 2012
