In short: Really good all round
In full: Really enjoyed this one - all the logistics worked well, fast course, great start/finish area. Results turned up in my inbox very soon after the end of the race. Really good overall.

In short: Great race, great course, perfect organisation.
In full: Agree with other reviewers - fantastic race on all fronts. Definite pb potential (I knocked almost a minute off my pb). Can't fault the organisation either. Definitely one to keep on your annual schedule.

In short: Challenging and enjoyable in equal measure
In full: My first attempt at this race, and I really enjoyed it - this was a very enjoyable different challenge to the usual flatter courses. Agree with other reviews that you do need to be used to hill running to give this course a serious go. The downhill last km was really good fun! I'll definitely be back next time.

In short: Good fun, well organised, simple route - really good event.
In full: First time I've done this event - absolutely nothing to fault - easy to get to and park close to the start. Whole race is well organised (and definitely agree with others about having the chip on the back of your race number - excellent idea!). I quite like the simplicity of the 'out and back' approach, and that you get the slight upwards incline out of the way during the first half. I managed a pb too so overall very pleased! Definitely coming back.

In short: Generally very good (just one unfortunate issue)
In full: Overall, a really nice run. City Park is a great venue for the start/finish - contributed to a great atmosphere pre and post race. Good mix of flat and climbs to maintain interest.

Does look like there was an unfortunate course malfunction - just checked my actual route vs the one on the website, and I (and lots of others) missed a turn....seems one of the turns wasn't marked, so a lot of people ended up doing a 4.25km lap, and not a 5km lap. Bit of a shame, but I still really enjoyed the run nevertheless.

In short: Awesome challenge, but needed a few more marshals
In full: Very tough course in a really nice location. Made all the more difficult by numerous icy ponds and muddy bogs. A real challenge.

It's fair to say, though, that the course wasn't always obvious - I'm pretty sure I missed a section out towards the end, and several others did, from what I heard others saying afterwards. Needed a few more marshals I think.

In short: Challenging, enjoyable, well organised - great race!
In full: Very enjoyable race - well organised, and marshalls were very encouraging. And definitely liked the post-race goodies / t-shirt! Was good that road, woodland and canal towpaths all featured - definitely added to the challenge and interest. I wore trail shoes in the end - on balance, probably the right decision for me.

Was my first ever race, but marshalls were very helpful in directing me where I needed to be, which helped the pre-race nerves. Will definitely be back next year!
