In short: Well done, Brighton
In full: Second time I've run the Brighton 10k, and it won't be the last. For a field of this size the organisation is pretty spot on. Easy parking, chip timing (with an text alert at the finish), good route (always seems windy, though. Funny that, what with it being November...), well organised finish with plenty of water (how did people not see it?) and a Lucozade van handing out bars. Oh, and first time under 45 minutes for a new PB. Needs a better medal, though.

In short: A race that lacks a little oomph.
In full: I don't know what it is about the Croydon 10k, but it really should be better than it is. Maybe I've been spoilt with races recently, but the course just seems so dull for about three-quarters of it, with most of it run on pavements, and the start is a bit of a shambles. That said, there are some positive: fast times can be run and the fruit and chocolate at the end was a welcome touch. I know that Croydon can't really compete with the scenery of other local races, but I just think the it has a feel of being shoved away in the corner somewhere.

In short: Find me a better 10k anywhere
In full: Second time doing this race and beat last year's time by over three minutes. It really is a little gem of a race. Great organisation (starting pens for a local 10k!), superb course with mix of terrain, excellent marshalls, water bottles (ok, maybe a bit OTT) and a medal to rival so-called "mass" events. Oh, and I can walk home afterwards. Brilliant. Well done PWR, I think it's about time I joined.

In short: Good race with room for improvement
In full: Bar the killer final 1km, thought the hills weren't as bad as I was led to believe. That said, it's enough of a challenge to scupper any hopes of a PB (for me, anyway).
The route itself was thoroughly enjoyable, with well-positioned water stations and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back next year, but hope the start and finish areas are improved. Seemed too much of a bottleneck at the end and the start felt, well, odd.
And, although I don't run for the glory, the medal was pretty poor. Would be quite nice to have the actual event name and the year at least.
However, these negatives failed to spoil the day.

In short: Tough course, but my kind of 10k. Wish I could have taken in more of the scenery. Very friendly and great organisation. One of the best in the South East.

In short: An uninspiring course, but with a couple of nice climbs. Shame it doesn't use more of Beckenham Park. Good organisation and marshalling, and friendly atmosphere.

In short: All the problems have been said a thousand times. I honestly thought the lack of water on such a hot day was disgusting and dangerous. Potentially great but a shambles at the moment

In short: Despite reports of tough hilly course I smashed my PB by a large margin which added to the enjoyable day. Watch out for wild horses
