In short: Good Half Marathon but was it the correct distance?
In full: I cant fault the organisation for this one, park and ride was brilliant (and very quick transfers top and from the race), the use of the toilets at the race course were welcomed, changing and baggage was very handy and seemed to work well. The race was "very busy an narrow" in places, usual problems with runners being a little bit off with their anticipated times so therefore were in the wrong pens!! (nothing new there though) My garmin also made the course alot longer than the 13.1? Other than that great weather and a great supporting crowd. Many Thanks to the volunteers that helped put the event on!

In short: My first ever Marathon and i finished it!!
In full: This was first attempt at a marathon and it felt very special being able to run it in Portsmouth my home town. The runners I met before and during the marathon were very supportive and although the terrain consisted of mud, glorious mud and water logged paths it all added to the challenge and made this race memorable for so many reasons! I found it tough, very tough. I took a tumble during the race and survived but the personal satisfaction of finishing the race will live with me for ever! Thanks to all the marshalls and people that supported the race it was very much appreciated.

In short: Good Fast PB Course
In full: Putting aside the usual problems encounterd with races of this size i.e. runners in the wrong "waves" and walking after two miles (and they were in the "orange" wave?) it is a great PB potential race if you are postioned well in the right "wave".

In full: What is it with the New Forest and the wet weather? Did the John Austin Half earlier in the Year and guess what it was raining then too!! Great race, despite the weather! Hats off to the volunteers who despite the bad weather supported the runners and the event with a smile on their faces! Many Thanks it was appreciated! Thanks go to the brave locals who also came out to support the event too! Well orgnaised event, no problems with parking, signs, toilets, changing area (but as someone has mentioned god help the cleaners who have to clean up the water in the sports hall!!) All in all despite the weather it was a good run and i will be back again next year! Thanks Again to everyone involved in the organisation of the NFHM.
