In short: Alot more incline than I thought! But all in all a nice run.
In full: I am going through a phase of doing as many races as i can at the moment so I decided to go a little further afield and do this race. As I didn't know the area at all I didn't realize quite how much incline and decline there would be in this race. Definitely not one for a PB! Plus in areas I could have done with wearing cross country shoes, but most of us wore road running trainers and luckily (with it been dry recently) it was fine. One problem I had (which is more a personal problem) was the gates. I couldn't get into a rhythm at all, a lot of gates and styles in this race kept stopping my pace. Another thing for me that they should have done was included distance markers on some of the route arrows around the course, as I didn't wear a GPS (which I know is my own fault) I didn't really kick in at all in the race, as I didn't know the area I rounded the last corner and was near the end (which came a lot sooner than I thought!) Overall thought the atmosphere was very friendly, the route was very challenging but a lovely route if you don't mind a hill or 2! Considering it was the first time they had ran the race it went very smoothly and hopefully it will be on again next year!
