In short: Misty, better then boiling
In full: Last year the heat put a dampner (!) on things. I swear it was hotter than the sun. This year the organiser booked much better weather. Chilly to start, so an extra layer to discard was needed. But once moving the temperature was perfect. The mountains were more manageable and Bedlem Bottom seemed easier now I knew what to expect. Marshalls were great and the spectators were out in force again, something I had hoped for but thought they might have been put off by the weather. The finish was better planned. The organisers had obviously taken on the comments from last year. Just poke an energy drink in there somewhere for next year and it will be better still.

In short: Well done again! Flat, fast, lucky with weather!
In full: My second Gosport half, and although I did not repeat my supurb PB of last year I enjoyed it none the less. The weather was great, slight headwind (which is being blamed by me for the lack of PB) but nothing to troublesome. Fantastic marshalls again and the spectators were all friendly too. The cross roads with the cars coming out of the airfield should win awards for its organisation - runners should always come first! Well done chaps. And I like the airfield being able to see the faster and slower runners helped to spur me on. I will return.

In short: Always enjoyable, but somethings never change.
In full: Having read the other reviews I have to agree with most of the comments. The start waves were a bit odd this year. I have done this race several times. The last couple of years I have been in the white (second) wave but was demoted to green this year. I spent the entire race overtaking and being overtaken. It was as if the runners had been randomly allocated waves. Which would be OK if you were then separated out within your wave (as they did a few years ago). Why did all the pace makers seem to be in the white wave. I overtook the 2h 10m pacemaker on my way to a 1h 50m finish. Very odd. The pinch points are always there. Without a significant change to the course I doubt they can be avoided. What happed to the parking on the common? In previous years it has worked reasonably well. The strange fence made it difficult to work out where to go. More marshalls or more exit signs would help if the fence is to return next year!
I do love this race, but this year there were a few niggles. Hopefully the organisers will take all our comments on board and improve for next year.

In short: Hills, but, what goes up and up and up must come down and down and down!
In full: Very well organised. They were ready at 0830 to hand out chips and sell T shirts. The sound system was good. Warm up routine was good. The marshalls were friendly and clapped. The locals could not be faulted. Handing out water, spraying us with water from hoses and even rushing to the aid of a fallen runner. Being very hot I saw a lot of fallen runners but not one was alone, other runners were at their side and marshalls were never far away. A forth official water station and perhaps some energy drinks would have been good given the exceptional heat. If the organisers could arrange for slightly cooler weather for next year that would be good! I will be back next year. Thanks to all involved offical and unoffical.

In short: No medal was a disapointment. Only large T shirts left over.
In full: My first Eastleigh 10k. The route was okay, nothing spectacular. Quite a small field but even as a slower runner I never lost touch with other runners. A shame the finish was not more obvious, I had the legs for a bit of sprint but was upon the finish before I realised it. No medal and only large T shirts left in the hall. If I had known I could have picked up the T shirt before the race I would have. Good for getting a PB, not so good if you are collecting mementos.

In short: Flat. Airfield was a bit dull, sea side made up for it.
In full: The switchback nature of the course meant that you could see faster and slower runners for long stretches which is inspiring (regardless of them being in front or behind).
The marshals were excellent, cheering everyone on with good humour.
