In short: Another excellent race In full: This was my 3rd time at North Linc's half and it was excellent yet again in spite of the weather! Marshalls were fantastic, plenty of water stations and a jelly baby zone! There was the added bonus of pacers this year as well which I think helped me get a massive pb! Highly recommended and I'll be back next year! Date of review: May 4, 2015
In short: Beautiful course but tough! In full: Beautiful scenery but tough course. Marshals were all brilliant and the organisation up to, and on the day of the event was excellent. Date of review: October 11, 2014
In short: Fantastic organisation and lovely course In full: Really well organised and friendly event. Loads of people out around the course. Hills at the end were tough, but the crowds cheering you on helped! The start was a bit tricky, being down a narrow, steep path. Chip timing would have been nice due to the slow start for us runners nearer the back! All in all though, a beautiful course, excellent organisation and support and a brill goody bag! In short: Brilliant! In full: Superb organisation. Flat course with support all the way round. Special mention to the scout group on the water station after mile nine - they were awesome. Brilliant goodie bags with a medal, technical t shirt, sweets and chocolate! This was only my second half, with the 2013 being my first - will definitely be back next year!
In short: Well organised and scenic In full: My first time in this race, and although it was a bit busy at the start it did spread out fairly soon. It was annoying that I was over-taking people who'd started walking just after 1km, but that's not down o the organisers!! Plenty of marshals on the course and 2 drink stations were a welcome sight in the heat - I need to practice drinking water out a cup when running though!!
I would have preferred a t-shirt to a medal but other than that a very good race that I hope to do again next year. Date of review: June 3, 2013
In short: Lovely course In full: This was a lovely course but the start was too narrow for the number of runners. There was also no one directing people where to go before the start, and I ended up behind a spectator with a pushchair! The course was really scenic through local countryside though.
Although there were people out on the course watching they only seemed to cheer for the organising club runners, which was a bit disheartening at times. The final stretch into the square was good with plenty of cheering.
Excellent technical t shirt and a medal so very happy with that! Will hopefully do it again next year! Date of review: May 19, 2013
In short: Excellent race with fantastic organisation In full: This was my first half marathon so I was guaranteed a PB! Considering it's only in its second year this race was fantastically wel-organised. There were plenty of marshals who provided much needed encouragement and jelly babies. Finishing in the football ground was brill as there was plenty of room for runners to recover whilst waiting for friends or club-mates to finish. I'll definitely be back next year and after the success of this race, plan to do another 1/2 this year! Date of review: April 29, 2013
In short: Hillier than expected! In full: My dad encouraged me to enter, describing the course as undulating. We obviously have different definitions of undulating! Despite the course being tougher than expected I enjoyed it and now have something to aim for next year! Date of review: November 6, 2012
