In short: You've never seen anything like it
In full: Hardest race I've ever done, bar none. glad I did it, it's a fantastic challenge, with a bit of everything.

Incredibly well-organised.

One to tell your grandkids about.

In short: Tough
In full: Always nice to have a start and finish at the stadium. Very undulating, with one part of the course verging into XC territory.

Well-organised though, and I have no big criticisms. Although the goody bag was perplexing (I'm happy with just a kit kat and an energy drink) and the finisher's t-shirt a bit ropey (anyone finishing a race that hard deserves a medal!)

But a good workout for me, and I'm glad I did it.

In short: Nice little race
In full: Layout of race means that upon exiting the stadium, some congestion is inevitable. Having said that, the field opened out soon enough, with plenty of room to put your foot down.

Have my doubts about the first km marker, but other than that, no complaints.

A really weighty, chunky medal at the end for those of you that like such things.

In short: No hype, no marketing, just a good race
In full: Stripped down to the bare essentials, a race well worth doing.

Very cheap, no medal/ memento, everything is channelled towards putting on a very well-organised race as cheaply as possible.

PB-potential lessened by the number of turns and occasional small incline, but even so, a fairly fast course.

In short: Chaos
In full: Not much to say really. Got hopelessly lost, 3 races starting at once. Mute marshalls, inadequate signage, no memento, just carnage really.

Unless it improves, avoid.

In short: Very Tough
In full: Not so much laps as out-and-back twice.

In between South and Central there was some really soft sand, as well as water hazards that wouldn't look out of place at St Andrews.

Gentle cross-wind on the way out turned into a very stiff headwind on the return, which made pace judgement very difficult indeed. The worst thing about the back portion was that you knew you had to face it again.

A "fun" race which gives you a weekend away and is almost guaranteed to make you fitter. It's very hard work!

In short: The odd niggle aside, more or less the perfect half.
In full: I found this a challenging course (lack of training told here, probably) due to the frequency of the hils (appearing just when ou don't want them to!)

Particularly enjoyed - running past the snooker, running into the stadium (that was fun!), the medal, the atmosphere.
Didn't enjoy - getting to and from the stadium, the randomly-placed mile markers.

In short: Potential to be a Fantastic Fun Event
In full: I've rated this race low for organisation and value, but that's only because it must've been hard to organise first time round. With the course radically altered at teh last minute due to problems on the beach, it meant that value-for-money was poor as it was a lot shorter.

However, it would be harsh to say "don't do this race" on that basis, as it was a logistical challnge.

Hopefully next year, if they run it, it will be better, and the problems ironed out.

They also need to make teh obstacles a little more stable, it was a bit hairy going over one in particular!

But all-in-all, a great laugh!

In short: Nice race, but don't expect a PB
In full: Strong point is the organisation, can't really be faulted (the way of starting teh race was a little "quaint" though!)

Plenty of up-down pavements to break up rhythm. Lapping stragglers who don't keep to the left also slows you down, as there's sometimes not much room to manoeuvre.

But all-in-all, not bad at all!

In short: Avoid at all costs!
In full: The Marx Brothers could have put a better race on.

Uncommunicative (and not enough marshalls), poorly laid-out course, lack of directional signs.

Dreadful.
