In short: If Carlsberg ran marathons then perhaps this would be the one they put on! In full: What a lovely event. Nice course, well organised, good venue, perfect weather (for Huskies and marathon running, sorry Ma'am), laps were a positive for pacing rather than a negative for boredom and great for support and nutrition. Nothing I would change - except perhaps for THAT hill. And lest I forget, HEAVY MEDAL! If you want to go for a PB I can't think of a better course for it. Thank you for putting on such a wonderful morning.
In short: What a friendly and well run day. To go to the effort of spraying potentially troublesome tree roots over a 30km route. Amazing! In full: As a minor aside I want to send a big thankyou to an annonymous Samaritan. Going through the first single file zone at the 1km marker before leaving the Cascades Centre a bottle of lucozade sport I was carrying in my waist belt came loose and fell out. With 400 runners right behind me I instantly had to decide that it was "lost" and carry on without it - otherwise I was liable to get trampled by impatient runners! About 100m later I felt a tap on my shoulder as one of the runners behind me had seen what had happened, picked it up off the floor and caught up with me to hand it back. Many thanks to that kindly Samaritan! In so many ways you saved my race!
