In short: First time teething problems and bad parking experience
In full: Parking was a nightmare - the overflow carpark a quagmire by the time it was time to leave. The fact that runners were coming into the exit from the car park meant no-one could get out of the car park..... not well thought through. This could be avoided by reversing the route.

Other than that, everything else worked pretty well, the medal was disappointing as it didn't have any date or event name on it.

I'll probably be back as the course and support themselves were good, but I might catch a train next time or stay overnight.

In short: Very very muddy - and who left those hills there?
In full: My first ever race - and hopefully the muddiest one I'll ever do! The beginner friendliness rating above is actually an average of a very welcoming bunch of fellow runners and easy organisation, and a course that could easily upset some people! It was very challenging in the very deep mud in places, especially when combined with very steep hills to make it feel like you're running up a stream, some bits would have suited a salmon better than a runner!

I'll be back but will still grumble about the mud! Hoping for a slightly drier one next year!
