In short: A tough & challenging 26.2 miles of hills, hills & more hills. Great run. In full: A prefect race. Ideal weather for running. Organisation & marshalling top notch. Course is very challenging but achievable. No switching off on this one, a physical & mental race. Pretty much every type of terrain used. Lots of hills (the one in the final mile is pure evil). Highly recommended race, be back in two years. Date of review: October 12, 2015
In short: Truely special race. Tough enough?? Oh, I think so... In full: Another excellent race and a fun day out. Challenging course, fantastically marshalled through (especially the lovely ladies at halfway). Another Trionium race added to my race calendar. Cheers Rob. Date of review: March 9, 2015
In short: Another top-notch trionium race. Well worth getting up early on new years day for. In full: Hills, mud, hills and fancy-dressed runner, what a great way to start the new year. Slight re-adjustment of race route certainly didn't change the toughness of the course. extra steps just added to the pain. The only reason this isn't back in the UK top ten races is that everyone else has raised their game to match Rob. Date of review: January 12, 2015
In full: A special race from a special mind... Having run this a few times before, i know about the never-ending stairs and the forever hills, but still i come back for more!! A great way to spend a saturday afternoon. As usual, superb organisation and fantastic marshalling. Date of review: July 2, 2013
In short: Shattered and broken, but one hell of an running experience. In full: This was the 1st endurance/ultra run we've done (entered as a male pair), so not sure what to expect. Throughly enjoyed the experience. Shattered and broken after 24hrs, but worth it. We Endured!! Good spirits thro-out, especially towards the solo & pair runners. A good mix of runners taking part, numerous teams of varying levels and numbers. An challenging undulated 5mile course of forest trails and farm tracks (although the final grass field mile got a bit tedious after 4/5 laps). Organisations seem spot-on. Food & drink constantly available, massage tent open through-out, toilets kept clean. Leant a lot from the experience and will be more prepared next time... Date of review: June 11, 2013
In short: a good fun 10mile off road run with a few teething problems. potential to become an excellent race. In full: The positives: a great course (can never go wrong with swinley forest). took in a good undulating route, using trail & forest paths. Obstacles were fun: cargo nets over a muddy & a deep wet ditch; a couple of long boggy ditch wades; a pond wade; forest hill zigzags; and u muddy tunnel to crawl thro... All entertaining in their own special way... lots of mud!!
the negatives: not enough route markers, arrows or marshals (most runners going wrong way at least once), swinley forest is v easy to get lost in. Bottle necking three times in 1st mile, maybe a staggered start next time. Misleading start address on website (but runner were emailed correct info pre race), which lead to long start delay. And no t-shirt as noted on RW. All of which are easily remedied for next time.
Good fun run, enjoyable despite problems. well done to the organisers. a special thanks to all the cadets around the course for putting up with the runners. Will be back in september.
In short: great off roader In full: only got praise for Dr Rob and everyone involved in this run. great out'n'back route through scenic Ashtead common. all off-road along forest trails. lots of friendly marshalls along the way keeping spirits up. topped off with a tech top and coaster (plus jaffa cakes). even bagged an off-road PB. great race.
