In short: A well organised event with a pleasant route In full: The route is nice, with much of the race on footpaths or the canal towpath, and some on a reasonably wide pavement. The course is really flat so there is good PB potential, although the towpath might be a bit slower if very wet, depending on your shoe choice.
The event was well organised, with everything that you'd need: toilets, bag drop, etc. It is worth noting that the bag drop is outside so if it was raining then those whose bags weren't waterproof might have had disappointingly wet spare kit at the end!
If I race the route again then I might wear shoes with slightly more robust soles as I could feel the lumpy and stony surface of the towpath through my skimpy Brooks T7s. Date of review: September 15, 2014
In short: A great race with a friendly atmosphere In full: The race was fun and well organised with a friendly atmosphere. I imagine the race would be good for beginners as the event was nice and low key. The race is run around Brockwell Park, with just over three laps each taking in a couple of small hills. In short: A fun and hilly trail race in lovely surroundings In full: The Hurt is a nice low-key trail race in a beautiful area. There are several short sharp climbs, some lovely runable descents, and great views from the high points of the course... as long as you aren't too tired to notice. Date of review: October 1, 2012
In short: A really fun race with great organisation In full: Any run that has cake and beer at the end is on to a winner. The event was well organised and had a good friendly atmosphere. I am tempted to give it a go next year - I definitely should try to shave a few minutes off if in better shape! Date of review: July 1, 2012
