In short: favourite half, but next year I will drive and lock bag in the boot! In full: Very enjoyable race and a modern era PB, some of the best support you will find and it's a relatively interesting course for the first 9-10 miles. It's my second time doing it and I don't remember the baggage chaos last year but I am sure it will be fixed next year. Given the numbers involved which some people forget about this organisation is great. There did seem to be a number of people who were set off in faster groups but were obviously slower and were a little dangerous by all wearing headphones. The price is expensive but it's my only plus £20 race a year so I will always find the money. Date of review: March 4, 2014
In short: Lovely course, friendly marshals but signage was pretty bad. In full: The course is great but the issues with signage and lack of marshals around certain areas of the course resulted in a fair number of people running two miles further than they should have done (me included), this would probably not have much of an issue on another day but it was a scorcher and that combined with the lack of 1st aiders was not the best. I am guessing that some idoits changed the signage but still this could have been double checked by a mountain biker or the marshals on the course, it's great value compared with other similar runs and I am sure the issues won't happen again.
In short: Great little race, the front is nuts and the scenary at the top is fantastic In full: Very enjoyable and I cannot run hills. The best thing was that the course had to be changed at the last minute and everything ran smoothly. The only thing that was a bit odd was that we set off 5 minutes early without much forewarning which caught a few unawares. Date of review: June 2, 2013
In short: A very well organised race, which is good value for money and friendly too In full: The organization was great, nothing seemed to have been missed and the goodie bags and mementos were good too. The only thing that needs a slight rethink is the water stations you don't need two at 1.5 and 2.3 miles and then a gap between 5 & 7.5 where there is arguably the most challenging part of the course. In short: Enjoyed this - well organsied even with the queues. Hilly though ! In full: Nice race, challenging little hills and good organisation though something went wrong later with the queues. Make sure that you make the right decision with footware as I was recommended trail shoes and it was way too dry and compact for them. Oh and the marshals were fantastic especially with directing different races at the same time Date of review: April 7, 2013
