In short: Hard but worth it In full: My first half marathon, a bit harder than expected but very well organised, and finished timewise bang on where I was aiming for.
A big thank you to the organisers, marshalls, Scouts, Air Cadets and everyone supporting en-route especially in Leigh (seems every man, woman, child, cat and dog was out to cheer us on)- that mad a hard mornings run worth it! Date of review: September 22, 2013
In short: The last hills a killer In full: Just to echo what everyone else has said, a great course, well organised, lot of support from the marshals and local residents, and for Dame Kelly Holmes to take the time out to attend and hand out the medals.
And I got a new 10k race PB! Date of review: September 9, 2013
In short: A lot harder than I was expecting In full: It's a local 10k for me, and was tough to say the least. Running on pavements is not my preferred choice, but still managed a new PB even with a few stops to get my breath back on the latter stages of the race - my own fault for starting off too quick.
Good to see the local residents cheering the runners on, and it was a very hot morning. Date of review: July 7, 2013
