In short: Excellent flat course with bags of PB potential In full: After a chilly 9.00am start the race warmed up enough for me to be glad to be wearing a vest. The support was great in the first couple of miles and generally throughout. I think the organisers need to put up all the mile checkpoints as some times I only had my Garmin telling me when another mile had gone by. I enjoyed the race, finishers t shirt & medal. Will be back fo more next year! Date of review: May 8, 2013

In short: Sublime 5 mile race In full: Loved this race and got a PB at this distance for the first time in 3 years. A bit of a tight fast start with the footpath narrowing, but after that it settled down. A definite PB potential and one of the best 5 mile races I have done. Vyer good amount of marshals and most shouted out encouragement which helped. Loved the free handmade cakes at the end and the medal. Worth the journey from Leicester and will be back next year. In short: sort out the start - it was a joke In full: After all the who-ha about being allocated pen numbers the fact it was not policed was a joke. Having a pen 3 position I looked around to see loads of people with 4,5,6… on their numbers. 5 miles in & still dodging people & running on pavements to get past people was not how I imagined it to be. The crowd support was phenomenal and the fact I had my name on my Charity vest made the race worthwhile & got me round. Will have to rethink whether i do this again. Will probably try Berlin or Dublin next time. Don't get me wrong I had a brilliant time but was very annoyed by the unorganised start. Date of review: April 27, 2010

In short: Good flat end of season race In full: Another well organised event. Enjoyed it again. Needs better parking facilities if you are going to increase numbers next year. Why not use Victoria Park? Date of review: October 11, 2009

In short: What goes up, must come down! In full: A great scenic race with a good sized field. Very well marshalled. Enjoyed the race although it was tough. Practical, quality pair of socks at the end. Date of review: September 6, 2009

In short: Well improved course - except for the For Sale sign! In full: Next year can the organisers make sure that any protruding For Sale signs are avoidable! I made a sharp left turn in the village at mile 9 and nearly got knocked out by a low positioned sign attached to a building. I am still nursing the bruise and trying to explain to work colleagues that I really didn't see the 3ft x 2ft sign! With a great improvement on the course to previous years, this will only increase the popularity of this hidden gem. There is PB potential and although there are some undulations, the last 2 miles (yes that's right - 2 miles!) are all down hill. So if you can make it to mile 11, you can let rip for the final 2. Another good t-shirt at the end (although my name was covered up by the second silver ink colour!). I'll be there next year for the 6th year in a row. Date of review: May 11, 2009

In short: Flat as pancake, fantastic momento! In full: Probably one of the best quality momento's I have received so far in 5 years of racing - glass block with 2 runners in middle & engraved with Belvoir Half & year. 2nd time doing this race and new PB of 1.25.26. It's a definite put your foot down and try and hold on kind of race. Three other team mates also got PB's as well! The only downside was the toilets & queues. I know it is a tough call for the organisers, but I think they need to get more porta-loos in for next year. Really enjoyed the race and will definitely be back again next year. In short: Really enjoyed the New course In full: Would thoroughly recommend this as a definite PB potential course - Managed to knock 5.5 minutes off mine - 1.27.45. Not bad considering my PB was 1.33.30 last year! The last mile is really tough. Although not a steep hil, at the end of this kind of run it's tough. I think better left luggage organisation would help. I think the potential to use Victoria Park as a car park shoould be looked into. Date of review: October 20, 2008
