In short: Well up to the usual standard for this fantastic series In full: When it was announced last year that the event this year would not include Garburn Pass I was disappointed. In yesterday's heat I was so glad that we had a shorter less brutal course. A great race and a top all round event. Date of review: June 6, 2010
In short: Top event In full: The VO2 Max team set the bar very high with thier Lakeland Series but they sailed over it with this event. I have delayed my comments just in case my view was swayed by the great weather but no, it was just an alround and running the course after a wet spell will redefine "fun".
Top, top event - great work guys. Date of review: March 29, 2009
In short: Top race In full: The weather was great but even without that this would have been a top event. A smashing new course, that was challenging but a gentler loosener for the harsher (but even more scenic - if that is possible) Ulswater the next day. Well done all at VO Max yet another top performance for the full crew Date of review: November 7, 2008
In short: Truly outstanding In full: This is why we plod about in the dark and the wet so tha we can experience this - the Lakes at their autumnal best, great course, great people Date of review: November 2, 2008
In short: Enjoyed this but I am a bridge nut which made the difference In full: Warmed up a bit too much and that was a trickly "little" hill after mile 9.
Bottles would have been better for the water but there were plenty of water stations I thought even in the heat. Not sure if I just missed them but were there no mile markers between 9 and 12 I could really have done with these although knowing the length of the bridge allowed a rough estimation.
Perhaps not a "do every year" race but I will be back Date of review: June 29, 2008
In short: Another great Puma Lakeland Trail event In full: Really hot, long and hard race but great to be part of - a really complete event for everyone once you take into account the Race, Challange, Sports Trail and the kid's fun runs - thanks to the organisation team Date of review: June 1, 2008
