In short: Yesterday I said never again... In full: I was an Ashby virgin! Furthest race distance I'd done before was half marathons. Peer pressured into this one, and whilst it's a tough course, for a novice like me it is very doable. They say a good training run for spring marathons like London etc. But it's not flat. The support is great and water stations are well placed. If you don't want to run a marathon, but want more of a challenge than a half. This is it!!
In short: Fantastic! In full: An uncrowded straight-ish trail winding down from Parsley Hay to Ashbourne. On a trail path so some loose stones in places. Open public access, so a few cyclists also. Well organised, base at Ashbourne for bag storage etc. regular water stations at roughly 3 miles apart. Great finishers medal. Good value for money. Stunning countryside! Also great PB potential too! In short: First time for me, will do again, very friendly. In full: I'm new to running, and novice at races. Great evening, well supported. Friendly atmosphere, the rugby club a great venue too. Quite a tough course, hilly. Well organised. Prompt results, good feedback generally and supports four amazing charities. Date of review: July 6, 2013
