In short: A Class Act!
In full: This was my fourth Reading Half and it didn't disappoint. Always well-organised, friendly and, when compared to some other 'city' Half Marathons, good value.
The weather today was challenging but, as always, the support was uplifting and thank goodness for marshals who are prepared to stand out for hours in the wet and the cold!Without them, the race couldn't take place - Thank you!

In short: A great atmosphere!
In full: This is the first time that I've run this race and I was impressed with the organisation and friendly marshals.

The prizes were generous - covering all bases. Also, all competitors received a fab mug as part of the entry fee.

Personally, I would have preferred a course that was a little more 'technical'. At times I felt I was running a road 10k and I'm getting too old for that mularky!

I would recommend this as being perfect for those who want to run their first multi-terrain race.

In short: A wonderfully scenic course
In full: I love this race. Have done it 4 or 5 times now and the changed start route is a definite improvement.

However, I do have a couple of gripes: the vet prizes are, in my opinion, poor. Just MV 40 and FV 35 . . . that's it! The senior male winner was actually fourth overall. . . Also, it's heck of an ask for 50 something runners to win a category if they are competing against someone nearly 20 years younger! I can't believe that the organisers couldn't find the funds for a couple more prizes.

All that said - today it was particularly beautiful and the ice-cream van was pure genius!

In short: An enjoyable experience!
In full: We happened to be in the area this week end, so decided to see if any local races were being run!I'm glad we decided upon Sherwood Pines. It's not a pb course but the fact it's a trail race should tell anyone this. However, it's traffic free, run on a great surface and reasonably challenging. Certainly good value for money. If we happen to be in Nottingham this time next year . . . we'd do it again!

In short: A pleasant scenic Sunday morning race
In full: This, in my opinion, is not a pb course! However, it is scenic and a great way to spend a Sunday morning. I don't know how accurate the course is - I was probably a minute slower than I would be on the road and on this course I'd expect the difference to be greater.
The prizes are fab! Ronhill vouchers - what a great touch. Much appreciated. The cake in the coffee shop was also very good and, if you want, you can use your race number to get a discounted entry to Bowood House and Gardens.

In short: An enjoyable 10k
In full: The weather made this difficult and I think everyone's time was probably slower than they would have expected! It's certainly worth the trip and it's organised by runners - which is always a positive!
