In short: Challenging, hilly but great fun. In full: Tough, challenging and a good test of fitness. The new route has a steep uphill section with approx 650ft elevation gain in the first 2.5 miles (note to self: more hill training needed!), a very fast and steep downhill section of similar distance (great fun but knackering on the legs!) and a final mile of flat to the finish. Not a lot of support en route (I'm guessing due to the rain and lack of houses on the route) clap us on were very much appreciated. Hopefully even more people will come out and support this great charity event next year.
The only thing that needs improvement was info on the race eg parking, elderly/disabled accessibility etc. This was the first race this year my Dad has been well enough to come and cheer me on, but despite getting there over an hour early he couldn't get to the start/finish. The organisers and volunteers did a great job overall, but the website needs more info on it. Maybe using Facebook and Twitter could help more in the future too.
I'll definitely do this race again as I LOVED the challenging route. One of my favourite races I've done so far. Date of review: October 15, 2013
