In short: Some big hills, awful weather fantastic supporters, well organised. In full: What a miserable day weather wise but this was more than offset by the fantastic support of the crowds who braved the weather.
PBs are unlikely on this course due to the hills at the far end. Well organised although only water at the drinks stations almost threw my fuelling were it not for the help of a very kind spirited gentleman.
They have pacers for this race so it makes it perfect for new comers to gauge their first half like me.
The medal, yes it wasn't amazing as other have said but it's for charity so who cares - if you chose your medals based on the gizits you get then you might be missing the point - they're a bonus not the prize! Date of review: October 30, 2013
In short: Brutal hill near the start but excellent winter improvement program across the series. Friendly. In full: After the first KM there is Larkstoke Hill which is about 2km long but once at the top yup have about 4km downhill of vary steepness; this allows you to make up some time. Back into the village for another shorter hill and then out to the finish.
This is a hard course and not for the faint hearted but the event is great for beginner and elite alike. Good friendly atmosphere. Date of review: October 28, 2013
