In short: Hilly, rainy, Excellent In full: Well organised event. Challenging course that I underestimated being my 1st time. The hills seemed to go on forever. Marshalls excellent and a very Jolly race director.
Excellent medal and goody bag.
Tough but fair. Date of review: September 24, 2012

In short: Excellent race In full: This was my 5th time doing the Arundel Scouts 10k and is a race that I enjoy everytime.
This year I decided to run as "The Stig" in memory of my best friend Kev. The support by runners, marshals and supporters was amazing and made the distance fly by.
The finish on the high street is excellent and the organisation is superb. It is a hilly course but a race that needs to be enjoyed rather than pushing for PB. Arundel 10k hopefully see you in 2013 but maybe not in fancy dress. Date of review: August 27, 2012

2011 On Your Marks ... Little Hearts Matter Charity 5 and 10K Run

In short: A friendly run organised by a small charity In full: The windy conditions made the run a lot harder than it should have been on a flat course along Worthing seafront. It was a shame that more runners did not attend the event but it was the first year so can only get more popular. Having a 5k and 10k race at the same time was a nice idea and gave the real family feel to the race. Enjoyed the sweets in the goody bag and the medal will ensure I remember this windy day in Worthing. On your marks for little hearts I will see you again next year. Date of review: May 22, 2011

In short: Excellent training race for April Marathons In full: A very enjoyable race with excellent marshalling.
Even though the course was 4 laps there were separate sessions i.e seafront, main roads and back streets.
I would only enter this race as a warm up for a marathon but is very useful to have. I also took part in the Spitfire 20 but definately enjoyed Worthing 20 more.
Loved the medal.
Stig is definately ready for the Rotterdam marathon. Date of review: March 31, 2011

In short: 9 minutes off PB - YEAH In full: You always take a risk with the weather for Brighton Half Marathon but this year we were treated to perfect conditions for quick times.
The change in course was much better and much less congestion at the beginning that in previous years.
Organisation was good. A few more toilets would be nice. Giving bags to store baggage was a much better idea and saved lots of time at end of race.
The medal was better as well.
I am now a 1h35 standard half marathoner, before the weekend a mere 1h45min runner.
Brighton I salute you and will be back next year. Under 1h30 or maybe I am now pushing my luck........

In short: Fast course, excellent organisation In full: The course is flat and support along the way contributed to my PB this year.
The organisation was excellent.
Cost to enter race definately steep.
I wish I had a medal to show for the race. Mugs are simply a waste of time. Mugs are for mugs. Medal please next time. Date of review: February 7, 2011

In short: Mud Mud Mud In full: I entered this race on the day as an alternative to my long run. The course was very muddy but added to my enjoyment of the race. The marshalling and signage on the course was superb. The organisation was excellent. Would have preferred a medal to another mug but my preference. I will be back for more next year. Well done Worthing Striders for putting on another successful race. Date of review: December 5, 2010

2009 The Three Molehills
 | | Would you do it again? | | Yes | | | | Details: |
In short: Apoligy to Marshalls In full: I posted an angry posting on this event yesterday slagging off the marshalling of the event.
In the cold light of day I realise this was a stupid thing to do and should have calmed down before loading up the computer.
I apoligise to all the marshalls on the day. If I was marshalling in conditions like yesterday and then to get home to messages like mine I would be upset. I am sorry for the comments made.
I am not a prick all of the time but the passion got the better of me yesterday.

In short: Marshalls were a joke In full: I appreciate this was a 1st time race and it will be a classic to put in the diary for a team relay......clue organisation rant
The Marshalls were useless. It shouldn't have been hard, there were only a few directions to be given but was clearly not within their capabilities.
1)Sending our 1st runner on a 4.5mile detour killed our race. We had a chance of winning.
2)Marshalls not having a clue. I was told to go left by one and right by another at the same point. Could not tell me how far to go. All I got was "keep going" - not the most helpful marshalling.
3) 3 toilets
I have trained hard, lost 6lb in weight getting fit so I do not let my team mates down just for the organisation to ruin our race.
I do not accept the comments that we should have read instructions. The directions were not clear and the map provided (useless - see a theme here). Marshalls are there to Marshall - today they must of had a day off.
I am not a marshall hater - I respect them for giving up their time so I can enjoy running. However this morning was a joke and I hope the organisers take my comments to improve for next year. Date of review: November 28, 2010

In short: See you next year In full: The Arundel Castle 10k is an excellent 10k. There are hills and flat. The organisation is good and the scenery is interesting. The memneto is good too!
