In short: The best and hardest race I've ever done In full: This was my first Grizzly. Having marshalled last year in the wind & rain and watched everyone still appearing to enjoy themselves (how?!) I needed to have my own experience!
Wow, I'm not sure that anything can really prepare you for how tough this is. So many changes of terrain from beach to bog, climbs and cliff-tops. The challenge, camaraderie, marshals, wine gums … made the whole experience the best I've had in my short(ish) running career. Can't wait to pick up the 2006 entry form at the Seaton half!
In short: very enjoyable and well organised In full: Really enjoyable race, obviously helped by big turnout from my club. The run is quite quick to start with so I guess I went off too fast as usual! Still managed to hold it together and used the one hill at about 5K to go past a few. The route is very picturesque in and around Gittisham. good organisation at the finish too and plenty of tea and home made cakes for sale in the sports hall! Definite potential to post a quick time, which given the shortage of 12K's could easily be a PB. Date of review: December 16, 2004
In short: one of the huge strengths, ie the huge number of entrants giving a fantastic atmo is also the only weakness as you spend a lot of time zig zagging around people! Date of review: August 24, 2004
