In short: Beginner friendly flat 10K with a fete at the end. Very nice race. In full: This has come a long way since the 2 toilets in a boggy field and that's your lot. Easy parking, easy registration, sensible loo arrangements (if overwhelmed but that is the norm). Fete is not quite a s good as it used to be but ideally located. Couple of bottlenecks if you are one of the Alf Tuppers but all in all a real honest good value race. Smashing support all round and top marshalls. What more can you ask for? In short: Well, we did it in 35lb pack and boots and weren't last! But ouch. In full: Probably the hardest I have ever pushed a race, felt ill during, ill after and hooky now but what an experience. And good to see the "old" March course is back. Just pain and hills. See you all next year! Date of review: March 6, 2010
In short: Usual superlatives - Bring on Marthas back passage In full: For thse of you that do this, you know how good it is, for those of you that don't, stay away, it's getting harder to get into as it fills up so quickly and I want to keep me a place! Date of review: January 24, 2009
In short: Cold showers are a sin. In full: Bedford Harriers usually put on a good show. A very good ahow. The course was great and the marshalls were among the very best.
The parking was irritating and messy though arguably there was sod all could be done about it.
All that I can live with, but two loos with one blocked full of cr4p, a shower room that looked like a flood plain and cold water spoilt it for me. With a 130 mile round trip. I won't do it again in a hurry. Date of review: March 16, 2008
