In short: Caketastic!
In full: 14 miles off road was never going to be easy but add in the recent weather and this was harder than the majority of winter cross country races.

The setting was superb, the organisation was excellent, the marshalls and helpers at the water stations great and if I'd wanted an easy race I'd have done the Harry Hawkes 8. But I'm so glad I didn't.

And how can you fault any race which has cake at the finish?

In short: A low-key, local 10k
In full: This is the third year I've run this race and the organisation is getting better each year and the earlier start was an good.

It's actually really nice to run something that is simple and straightforward and free of event razzmatazz but two points I made last year still hold true - putting information such as race day instructions, route map online and the worst race t-shirt ever.

In short: Scorchio!
In full: Superbly organised, pleasant scenic course. No big hills, just what seemed like a regular series of rises and falls. Look up undulating in the dictionary and it probably says Dorking 10.

You can't do much about the weather - the week before it was throwing it down - but it made it tougher for me than it otherwise would have been.

In short: Beautiful setting, beautiful weather, fantastic organisation, incredible value
In full: I can't find fault with this race. Yes, it's tough with the hills and the off road sections but that's part of the charm and it's hard to better the location. For a small event the organisation is first class. My entry for the Arundel Castle in September has been sent already

In short: More than a race - it's an event, a gathering of friends.
In full: It's hard to think of something to say that hasn't already been said. All these people can't be wrong. This is something truly special.

A big thank you to the BPTT committee, the willing volunteers and also to the runners themselves for making this brilliant and unique event possible.

Every Saturday at 9 o'clock. See you there!

In short: Another year, another Cabbage Patch
In full: Great organisation, great support, a fast flat course taking in the river... I am so lucky to have this as my local 10 miler

In short: A fantastic race
In full: I love this race! I lacked endurance traing this summer and it told in the final two miles which was the main reason I was 3 minutes down on last year. But the views were great, the organisation great and being able to race on traffic free roads is something I can only dream about now I'm living in London.

Loved the t-shirt with the course profile, but where is that downhill section at the start?

In short: A fantastic but challenging race
In full: The setting was amazing. The weather was glorious. The course was possibly the toughest 10k I've run but you can run the Brighton 10k if you want a fast time.

This cost me just £6 to enter! A bargain in this day and age.

I will do this again and that's the ultimate compliment you can pay really

In short: Just what I wanted
In full: After a series of shorter races this summer I wanted a practice 10 miler for a 10 miler and half marathon I've got coming up in the next couple of months - and this was ideal.

The undulations were deceptively challenging - they didn't look like much but my calves didn't like them. There were loads of marshals and I thought they were really enthusiastic. Given the heat on the day, the gap between the last two water stations was too long. I particularly liked the sponge - usually get water.

I'm glad I did this race
