In short: very tough, stunning coastal trail race In full: What a fantastic day. With the exception of parking and lack of aid stations - but we were warned to carry our own i had a fantastic day. Although i only live up the road and regularly train off rioad on Gower this race eclipsed all that. The course was magnificent - obviously helped by the outstanding weather - with views of the area that would tempt anyone back. Just when you think you are finished with hills you then run through the hellish bogs. A fantastic day. Date of review: December 12, 2008

In short: A fantastic trail race! Chepstow Harriers do it again In full: A great day. Obviously expecting rain competitors were directed to a hard standing car park. Nice touch! The race as ever was superb. The marshalls were friendly and plentiful and the course really well marked (although shame on lady who deliberately cut out one of the hills - you know who you are!) . The course is a toughie, hills, hills, muddy drops and never ending lumpy fields but the atmosphere is spot on and this remains one of my favourite races! Only gripe - how about a little souvenir or am i being picky!! See you next year Date of review: April 28, 2008

In short: An enjoyable well organised race. Tough weather conditions this year In full: I always enjoy this race. A good course with a gradually climbing first half. Well marshalled. This year the weather was cold windy and wet and due to parking issues delayed the start. However with the field getting bigger every year there were very few complaints and the race went without a hitch. For such a poor day support from spectators was fantastic. A tight hamstring put paid to a fast time but i'll definately be back next year. Date of review: March 17, 2008

In short: A beautiful surprisingly fast half marathon In full: I love this race. Its really low key but everything you need is there. Good route markers, adequate water stations, support and a very friendly atmosphere. Again the weather came up trumps! Ran a PB too which is always nice!! In short: A boxing day regular fixture to catch up with old faces and get some air In full: This is one of those events that you do year on year. A friendly low key race on a closed road that welcomes everybody. Only negative points being the distance from registration to the start and the momentoes not being given out at finish line. Toilets at start/finish line non existent. However that is not the point of thisrace. This is a community race that gives the local race scene a focus for the Christmas period. I will keep supporting. My thoughts go out this year to the family of the runner who sadly passed away during the race. Next year i will be back in commemoration. Keep supporting these little races Date of review: December 29, 2007

In short: A freezing, challenging must do welsh multi terrain race In full: As always the field of this race gets bigger each year - the crowds brought by the challenge of the big dipper and the beautiful course. I always enjoy this race but would like to see mile markers. Also the tshirts which were on sale looked excellent but not having anywhere to stash kit and wallets after long walk from car park meant i left without the obligatory splash of cash. Minor gripes for one of my favourite races Date of review: December 17, 2007

In short: A fantastically hard trail race in the most amazing scenery In full: This really was superb. The course was really challenging (read horrendously hilly!!) the views were exceptional and the organisation immaculate. Markers and distances were faultless and the marshalls and their well stocked buffet tables were the best i have ever come across. this is a must do race Date of review: June 18, 2007

In short: fantastic testing off road 10k In full: this is what trails race are all about. A superb course that would be testing for all categories with fantastic route markers and superb marshalls. The first time it has been run with unfortunately hideous weather but this took nothing away from the race. I'll certainly be back. Well done to all the team - its always horrendous when the first running of a race is met with unseasonal (!!!) weather - but do not be put off as everything went superbly. A big thank you to the brave marshalls. Date of review: May 27, 2007

In short: this is what a trail race is all about!! In full: A fantastic day! Fabulous course, beautiful weather and superb organisation. I thoroughly enjoyed this and suffice to say its already pencilled in for next year. Course was spot on - good, tough hills, ankle breaking downhills and rock solid bumpy flats. This is what trail races should be like. well done chepstow harriers Date of review: April 30, 2007
