In short: Lovely off road race through the woods. Shadey on a hot day.
In full: Looking at the route before the race I was worried I'd get lost but in fact the course was well marked with marshalls at possibly confusing points. Everyone very friendly. Medal & certificate at the end. Small numbers for this first event, there'll hopefully be a few more in future.

In short: Singin' in the rain.
In full: Apparently last years fine weather was an aberration. Love this event, rain and all. Special thanks to the marshalls, mountain rescue and all who stand around in the wet all day but still manage to smile and encourage.

In short: Mud glorious mud! Really enjoyed the race. Great weather, good venue, wonderful views.
In full: Would have given higher marks for organisation, but sadly some people missed a turning and this had apparently also happened last year. [I was one of the lucky ones who went the rigtht way.]

In short: Another triumph for the organizers - thanks Graham & Claire!
In full: Extra miles to enjoy this event? Terrific! Harder course than last year? Bring it on! That said, I am one of the slowest on the course, which is one reason I enjoy these events so much. I need the extra time given for the Challenge, but still feel part of the race. The encouragement given by [some of] the Racers coming past warms the cockles of my heart. The feelgood factor of these events is amazing. Oh and thanks to the Superheroes for guarding the water stations this year.

In short: Excellent race. Challenging & fun & rewarding.
In full: Lovely, friendly event as always. Gave me a warm feeling despite the extremely chilly wind! I felt quite sorry for the ice cream van people - did they have any customers at all? The prize giving & spot draw at the end has a charm all it's own [no, I didn't win anything]. Roll on the Garburn ...

In short: Excellent event!
In full: Just a wonderful day. Loved the course [I speak as one who doesn't try to run up the hills], the marshalls are great, the finish is fun, the atmosphere friendly. The childrens races are a joy. The only thing that could have made it even better would be winning a spot prize - even a sports massage! This is my favourite of the series. Probably. It's so difficult to choose.

In short: Nice, friendly race for a good cause.
In full: Venue was good with room for the children to run around. Very friendly organisers & stewards. The course was easy enough to follow, except at the point where I took a wrong turn & clipped c.2miles off. Did think it was a bit confusing there [but no-one else seemed to have a problem]. Whilst I thought it was very tempting with the twisty turny serpentining of the route, I hadn't actually intended to DO it! I did own up [couldn't deprive those who really deserved a possible prize]. Decent goody bag & great cakes at the end.

In short: A grand day out. Tough but enjoyable.
In full: Being a slow runner, I really appreciate being able to do the challenge and have an earlier start. It's amazing to see the leaders in action on the course - something one normally wouldn't see. Tough course, carnival atmosphere, friendly organisers, marshalls & participants.

In short: Well, that was quite challenging ..... but what excellent fun.
In full: What a wonderful day. The weather was perfect, the atmosphere friendly, the course interesting & challenging ... a triumph for the organisers. Loved the band & the prize giving as well, even though I missed out. [Was a bit worried at one point that I might be in danger of winning the free entry to the new event ..] The skeleton at the beginning of the coffin trail was a nice touch - missed out on a jelly baby perhaps?
