In short: Yes, it did
In full: Having done a few Trionium events I thought I knew what hills were but this course featured what must be the 3 steepest hills I've ever been up (I would say 'run up' but that would just be lying). Stunning views made one of those climbs seem worthwhile but the others were just evil.

Overall I think the Knacker Cracker probably still holds its title as the toughest 10 but this is definitely not one for the faint-hearted.

Just one request for next year - can we have the car park somewhere a bit more Mini-friendly. I was a bit concerned about the underside of the car scraping all the way up that entry lane!

In short: Blinder
In full: Horrible, horrible, horrible, wheeeeeeeeeeee, horrible (the wheee is the downhill bit).

Fantastic bout of sado-masochism, as you would expect from Dr Rob. The last hill was pure evil and at one point I thought I might actually surrender to gravity and fall straight back down it. Marshalls were great. People complain about how much these races cost but the goody bag and stupid grin you'll have on your face for days afterwards make them a bargain in my book.

In short: Awesome again
In full: Felt even harder than last year but maybe that's just the passage of time dulling the pain. Excellent organisation, great marshalls, very silly costumes. Splendid.

In short: Relaxed and friendly
In full: Despite a personal shocker (ate breakfast a bit late, set off way too fast, stitch from mile 4 to the end of the race), the overall impression is of a well-organised, welcoming race that will be worth another go next year.

In short: Flat and fast
In full: I did the 10K on July 17th but all versions seem to get lumped together in the reviews.

A lot of very fast club runners but also plenty of mortals. Not what you would call a 'destination race' but worth it if you fancy a Saturday morning work out with plenty of PB potential.

The marshall who was waving goodbye to everyone as they left the car park made me laugh too.

In short: Hell on Earth
In full: It's roughly an hour and a half since I finished and thinking about the last set of steps is still making me want to cry! The most unpleasant race I've ever done and I feel more knackered than I did after running marathons.

But. It's such a great race at the same time thanks to the encouragement from fellow runners as you pass them going in the opposite direction (whether they are ahead or behind), the excellent marshalls, the rendition of God Save the Queen, the bagpipes and all the freebies at the end.

Well done once again Dr Evil, sorry, Dr Rob

In short: Friendly and well organised
In full: Nice flat course but the fact that you run along pavements with regular dips for people's drives does take a bit more out of your legs than you might expect.

Good, friendly atmosphere, loads of marshalls, smatterings of support all along the route and I liked the fact that they had involved kids to give out bananas and medals at the end.

I liked the fact that I came 10th even more but I think it must have been a slow year overall!

In short: Always nice to run along the Thames
In full: Good flat course largely along the Thames although the 2 laps of a field start is a bit odd - I've never overtaken backmarkers within the first mile of a race before.

Not sure if I was feeling a bit below par but was surprised how much the uneven surface took out of my legs and then the steps almost finished me off. Hung on for a good position though.

A couple of the female marshalls were the most enthusiastic I've ever passed so big thanks to them. Nice views of rowers and a bit of birdlife to take your mind off it all too.
