In short: Awful organisation, it'll be the same again next year
In full: Not a lot the organisers could do about the problems on the Jubilee line, but they could have let the thousands of runners actually at the start, start! It was chip-timed after all. I guess they wanted packed roads for all the photos to market next year's race.

The only reason I'll be doing it next year is because I live so close.

Oh & thanks to the marshall who let me skip out of the runners enclosure to walk directly home & not force me to walk halfway round the O2.

In short: Start delay was a disgrace
In full: Organisers should be made to stand in the rain in running gear for an hour & see how they like it!

They closed all the access roads bar 1 at 9.00 & wondered why there was a traffic jam. I only live 2 miles away & had to walk to the start & back home after the race as no buses or cabs were available.

I was tempted to take off my number & start my own training run while waiting miserably in the rain.

Once the race got going it was fun. The atmosphere generated by the crowd was great. The route was very pleasant. The goody bag was a little disappointing, particularly for the £30 entry fee.

I may enter again as it was so close to my where I live & I end up running on familiar roads & find some nice new routes too.

In short: Well organised & small friendly crowd
In full: Really enjoyable race. Friendly marshalls. I love the early morning start. 6 laps of Battersea park is a bit trying, but that is my only gripe.

In short: To finish is to win
In full: Huge crowds, perfect running weather, but the last 5 miles are never easy.

The pain & doubt are gone, the legs recovering. It was all worthwhile.

What's the next challenge?

In short: Very hot, 2 hills, enjoyable though.
In full: It was hot already at the welcome 9.00am start. The middle miles were very scenic, whereas running in & out of Dartford was pretty dull. Well organised & enjoyable. The generous local support was particularly welcome.
