In short: The Best Race Anywhere For Magnificent Views
In full: Wonderful two lap course running over Seaford head with direct awe inspiring views of the sea & the seven sisters. Have run this race 4 times and it deserves a bigger crowd. Results were published on line within a few hours of the finish too

In short: A special race which could be a perfect event with one more water station
In full: Have run this race three times now & will be back for more.
Compared to last year:
The good stuff: More marshals & signs; Great belt with medal at the end; very good value for money.
Room for improvement: 4 water stations is not enough. Like last year the weather was warm. Whilst the first 3 stations are broadly 30 minutes running between each, the 4th at Rottingdean takes an hour to get too & for many runners maybe up to two hours!. There needs to be an additional water station or at the very least move the one at Rottingdean from the bottom of the road to the top. Some nibbles would be nice at the feeding stations too. I don't want to be too picky!

In short: Big race feel without having to run with the masses
In full: This was my first New Forest marathon. Like the reviews previously, I found it much more hillier than expected. Up & till 19 miles was on for a pb and then oh dear at least a minute a mile+ per mile for the last 7. (And I am an experienced marathon runner!) Great organisation, loads of friendly marshalls, brilliant countryside, plenty of drink stops & sponges. No problem with motorists, good facilities at start/finish. A big thank-you to everyone connected with the event.

In short: How did the organisers find a route nearly all in the shade!
In full: Great event, even though I fell over at the 10k mark. Thank-you marhalls for the 5 drinking stations, all needed. Can we have a few jelly babies next year? Fab scenery, well marked and most enjoyable.

In short: Oh those lovely HILLS!!!!!!!!!!
In full: My 4th time at this event, so I new what to expect. Felt really pleased with myself as the first time, that I managed to run the whole race (usually have to walk the second hill). The views are fantastic and the cool weather this year helped. The ground was soft, most unusual at this time of the year, but not too slippy. The t-shirt & foot lotion at the end, were far better than the ubiquitos and unimaginative medal. Will be back

In short: So How Does A Top 10 Race Get Better?
In full: I have run this race a couple of times & all the plaudits are richly deserved.
To keep ahead of the competition, I recommend that you strive even harder next year. Difficult, when everything that you are doing is great already.

Two possible suggestions:

1/ Another drink station. Marathons generally have them every mile. This race I believe there were 6 on a warm day

2/ At the drink stations, label which drinks are water & which are sports drinks. Throwing a sports drink over your head is not recommended

I'll be back

In short: O 'dem hills in the beginning
In full: A great local feel race, with fab scenery, mainly off road, plenty of cheery marshals, lots of drink on a very sunny Sunday. Seemed a little long but my sub 1.50 was ok, given the terrain etc. Will be back!

In short: Great run for marathon training
In full: I tried not to race this event as I am running Boston marathon next month, but got swept up and ran a little quicker than expected.
The mile markers were spot on, drink stations at the right places, well marshalled & good signage.
Only minor niggles- would be nice to have some nosh (mars bar pieces/raisons etc) especially in the latter food stations; a drink table at the end of the funnel is also needed. I'll be back

In short: Rain, Mud, Wind & Hyperthermia!
In full: My 5th Stinger, so I new what to expect.
I did the marathon this year (3rd Stinger marathon). A big thank-you to the marshalls for cheeriness & manning the stations in such terrible conditions.
