In short: Lovely race! In full: Fantastic organisation and a flat and very scenic course through the parks and dreaming spires! I haven't done this race since 2005 but will certainly not leave it so long next time! Date of review: May 18, 2008
In short: Busy, busy busy! In full: I love this race, this was the third time for me and got a pb, thanks more to the cooler weather conditions this year than anything else!
I personally didn't find the start quite as slow as last time, but what does seem to be on the increase is the idiots who seem totally unable to detach themselves from their beloved mobile phones! I did try my best to take evasive action when they weaved right in front of me without looking, but when you are sixteen stone, sometimes its difficult to stop in time!! Perhaps time for a rule to say that runners should pull off the course to make phone calls?
In short: A big thank you, Bedford Harriers. In full: One of the best organised and marshalled race I have ever had the pleasure to run. Thanks to all concerned! Despite the conditions (I didn't realise that the River Ouse had entered the race!)I really enjoyed the day. Oh and nice technical shirt - I was handed the XL one without having to ask. Hmmn, must go back on the diet ;-) Date of review: March 16, 2008
In short: Always enjoyable - and nice weather at last!! In full: Fifth year in a row for me so I am probably biased! Thanks to the Runners World 10 min mile pacer who dragged me through to a far quicker finish than at Wokingham and made me realise that I should perhaps stop using THE KNEE as an excuse for poor performance this year!
Nice tee-shirt this year - a perfect fit for me (which probably means its fat too big for most of the other runners!!) Date of review: March 9, 2008
In short: Upgrade the chips and this would be perfect! In full: Lovely race, spoilt only by the lack of proper timing. Fortunately for me I was coming back from injury and treated the race as a "long, (very)slow run" but I would have been gutted if I had been looking to push for a PB.
Other than that.... a lovely, well-organised race and would certainly re-enter again if I were satisfied that an accurate time could be assured! >8¬) Date of review: February 11, 2008
In short: Great organisation In full: A well planned and enjoyable race - pleased with my PB and the availability of XL / tank-sized teeshirt at the finish. I'll diarise this race for next year! Date of review: November 25, 2007
In short: Something a little different. In full: Something a little different from the usual road based courses and well organised throughout (toilets excepted). Not sure the terrain is suitable for "Tanks"..... knees and hips feel more trashed today than after FLM....but nonetheless might well be tempted to try the "downhill" route next year! :-) Date of review: November 12, 2007
In short: Super race In full: Fantastic organisation throughout and a very scenic and fast course, despite some mild undulations. Even enjoyed running the industrial estate section! Good value for money and will be back again. Date of review: October 21, 2007
