In short: Lovely grounds (Bisham Abbey) Lovely route, Great Marshals, Decent Tee-shirt plus a lovely medal In full: Entered this as a last minute traing race before Gosport Half, was such a lovely morning, so many nice touches, from the t-shirt and medal to the traditional band on the drums, the Water Aid charity piece. The route was lovely along the thames and everyone so friendly too esp the very encouraging Marashalls. Something for everyone, the fast, the mid packers and the beginners. Will be back next year for sure... Date of review: October 29, 2015
In short: Lovely route, not falt but not too hilly, great and friendly marshalls who were very supportive. Nice boot bag memento at the end. (Quick results too) In full: If you have not done this before, as the advert says - JUST DO IT.
The only bit not to like is the 12m on the main road, but thats is, the rest is just a great race. Thanks Hardley Runners, great well organised event, simple but effective. Will be back next year Date of review: September 27, 2015
In short: A Marathon with everything that you want, great organisation, great marshalls, a reverse running nutter (me), feed stations, personal drinks area, loos, touretts hill... everything to love nothing to hate (ok the sun burn then) :-) Date of review: May 31, 2015
In short: In short, now ranked as my favorite race... why, everything was great, the marshalls, orgainisation, the secenery, tye wildlife (Deer and Birds) just stunning all round. Thank you, I will be back. :-) Date of review: March 15, 2015
In short: Really enjoyed this race today, playful and makes you work on an undulating course. Marshalls were excellent and loved the water in the water in the sports bottle at the end, nice touch. In full: Shame the race is changing to March 08th next year as already booked up for the Salisbury 10m.... which is another favorite and good event. Date of review: October 19, 2014
In short: A beautiful 1/2 marathon in the heart of the New Forest, what more could you want. marshalls were excellent, organisation excellent, and the goody bag consisted of a gym bag, buff and a mars bar... good value. Top race In full: Whilst its a challenging course it is not a hard course. Plenty of undulations over the first 8 miles as you drop to sea level along the sea front, then is a gradual climb back, you do need to save the legs for the last 3 miles as is a long but very gradual climb, that if you are on song will not affect you too much, but if struggling can make a difference. In short: Overall a great race, signage could be better in the last 2-3kms through town, ut other than that a great race, good support and plenty of choice of distance to do. In full: Option of 10k, 21k, 30k, 42k and 50k plus walkers too, great day out not the best of races to race flat out, but for a great hard training run cannot ask for anything better.
