In short: Brighton goes from strength to strength
In full: Having missed last year I was back for a third time at this event. I prefer the re-routed course, there's now loads of PA in the corral area. As ever fabulous crowds and marshals, Even the dreaded Shoreham power station section had a reasonable level of support (putting the Scope double decker and drum group there was great). The water pouches were a revelation, very easy to use.
I'd disagree with one of my fellow reviewers, I thought goodie bags were fine- something to eat and drink is fine, I don't need several flyers and a jar of cranberry jelly. I would however agree with several others in that having to attend the expo is a major turn off (particularly in light of Saturday's weather).

In short: Excellent marathon preparation event
In full: First time at this event for me. Loved it, easy number pickup, a chance to run around part of the Top Gear track and then out into the undulating minor roads around the area. Loads of marshals and enthusiastic drinks station helpers. The shiniest medal I've ever received at the end and a top bacon buttie from the guides. I'll be back.

In short: a great way to welcome the new year
In full: Very well organised event, loads of smiley marshalls and the surprise of what this years memento is going to be makes this a staple of my start of year calendar.

In short: It'll be better next year
In full: Interesting course, well signposted and marshalled and a grandstand finish. The underpasses and twisting changes of directions means it's not going to be ultra-quick, but I managed a 10 min PB.
Access to the stadium pre-race and baggage trucks need some work and of course it would be helpful if it wasn't blowing an absolute gale.

In short: Marvellous way to blow off the post New Year cobwebs
In full: As ever, well organised with lots of smiley marshalls. It's always interesting to see what the memento will be and I'll no doubt be putting the buff to use when the weather turns nastier. Big tick for chip timing and speed of posting the results. Good job TAC.

In short: Excellently organised half- lovely marshalls
In full: Superb organisation, loads of loos, huge number of smiley encouraging marshalls. Very welcome downhill section at 10 miles to speed the legs up, but the very slight incline upwards to the finish (which I swear wasn't there when I walked to the start) hurt. Results posted in the hall immediately was a very welcome touch.

In short: Has the potential to become a very special race
In full: A few teething problems but overall a top race. The first half of the race gives you views over to the iconic three Graces and then a run through the tunnel takes you into the heart of the city. Although the profile doesn't look too hilly it's a long old drag both into and out of the tunnel. The loops through Sefton park are not to everybodies taste but I really enjoy being able to see other bits of the race. Very well supported finish, super bling medal and funky finishers shirt. I'll be back

In short: Very well organised, rather hilly
In full: It's just as hilly as I remembered. Lots of encouraging marshalls and loads of water points. Fantastic goody bag, very bling medal and technical T.
Loved the race announcer commentary 'we've got 24 degrees today, yes, thats 12 degrees in the morning and 12 degrees this afternoon'.

In short: Another brilliant day out
In full: It was the second running of this event and everything that was suggested as an improvement last year seems to have been acted on. More support out at the power station, more loos at the start. Additional water stations were much appreciated as it was horribly hot.

The expo was a little short on retail opportunities, but I suppose thats hardly the end of the world as there are plenty of shops in Brighton. The guest speakers were superb, I sat through most of them and regretted those I missed.

In short: Great way to kickstart the new year.
In full: Hillier than I remembered (isn't that always the case?). Loads of cheerful marshalls and and nice to get something at the end a little different from the usual medal/shapeless cotton T.
