In short: Best running event I have entered In full: So my first marathon and the last 6 miles sucked but the atmosphere was amazing. Organization was great, supporters were great, shiny bling was great and so friendly. As example a regular marathon runner stayed with me for the first 10 miles to pace me as was running for fun. Never met before and he was able to easily gain 30 mins after he left me but stayed with and encouraged. Only 500 places but this led to the most welcoming atmosphere I have ever experienced. Organiser responded to any queries within an hour before the race so can't fault at all Can't recommend enough. 10/10 Date of review: May 30, 2016
In short: Hard work but value for money In full: Liked this run a lot. Hills made it hard work and was suffering on my first run of the year but well worth it. Tough second half made you feel like you earned the medal but was nice and relaxed atmosphere. Fairly cheap and a good race to get over the xmas/new years binge.
In short: Decent amount of climb but nice In full: Seemed well organised although the delay was frustrating as it was cold. Packs arrived early enough with no issues. Nice place for a run but like Longleat so am bias. Hill was tough work the second time round but as it was towards the end of the race you knew you only had that and the last 2k would be easy. Lots of first timers and seasoned runners who were v talkative afterwards which made for a nice atmosphere. Could do with something in between 3 and 10k but aware the course is maybe not suited for a 5k distance. Would recommend Date of review: February 22, 2016
In short: Nice people, poor organisation In full: This was my first half marathon and would classify myself far more as a biker so wasn't sure what to expect. At 7.30 I was only 1.8 miles out but wasn't parked up until 8.25. Stressed out about missing the start wasn't ideal. The water stops were not great and the waves didn't work. I was aiming for 1.50 but had to overtake a lot of people where I could or run on the road. Plus points - nice staff, nice goody bag and flat course which for my first half was welcome. One thing which did slightly take the edge off the run were runners complaining and being arsey to the volunteers for not having water ready. Save it for the organisers, no need at all to be rude to young children who are trying their hardest... Date of review: February 22, 2016
