In short: I'll be back ! In full: As the co-organiser since 1985 we knew the new organisers Tape2Tape would put on a good show and keep the legacy going strong. From an ex organisers eye and also as a runner this time we saw that everything was flawless and went like clockwork. Nothing was left to chance, well signed, well marshalled, and very good value too. Good to see a large Vets prize list too, often neglected in lots of races. Reckon NRR with his comments is in a minority of one ! Long may it continue. Date of review: September 1, 2014
In short: If Carlberg organised road races this would be one of them In full: Great event with expert organisation, faultless performance from Neil and Nicola. Impeccable finish and atmosphere, a must do. Date of review: May 8, 2014
In short: Great event, poor results In full: I dont normally do this sort of run, only my 2nd big city half in 30 odd years ! We got to start early as minutes away from where we were staying, baggage stowed easily, but there seemed to be a problem with toilets. Most were at the rear near the baggage area, more are needed nearer to the start. I enjoyed the course and the support during the race. Disappointed in the T shirt, nice material but looks like a charity T shirt, no mention of Edinburgh on it ! The big minus is lack of full results with chip and gun timing which all big events publish the same day. I was 4th in my age group, but looking at finish photos I was 3rd over the line which is what normally counts. Minor gripe but very important for me, but we hope to be back next year. In short: Faultless In full: Lots of work had obviously gone into this event and it shows. From communications pre race to the excellent atmosphere at the finish. Enthusiastic marshal's and water distributors on the route and great support from some of the outlying villages. Best vets prize list I have ever come across too and all age groups covered. Mention has been made of the cost but road closures, stadium hire, prize list etc all add up. Not a lot can be done about the walk to the start, but a good warm up anyway ! See you all next year folks Date of review: May 1, 2013
In short: Great value In full: 2nd time I have ran this event and it just gets better. Great organisation, top value with a cool long sleeved tech top and goody bag. Hilly course but makes it a challenge, weather good for running too, see you all next year folks.
In short: Well worth the trip In full: 2nd year I have ran this and all went very smooth. Bit of a hill at the end but most ran faster than Saxilby 5K 3 weeks ago. Great to be traffic free especially in the misty conditions. Great facilities showers etc. Hope the series is on next year. Date of review: October 22, 2012
