In short: I'll be back next year! In full: I have done this run a few times and always enjoy it despite some of the local drivers failing to show any patience. However, why do some people insist on wearing headphones in this run when the joining instructions warn against this???
In short: At £18 was expecting a goody bag & a well marshalled race - I got neitherr! In full: £18 to enter a 10k race is steep and this race is by no way value for money. The goody bag was very disappointing and I doubt if many people will be using the paper weight. The course organiser was overly ambitious with the route particularly as there were not enough marshalls. The course should ahve stuck to the trails but instead in parts went through the forest which led to a group of people (at least 20 of a field of 250) going the wrong way and doing about a kilometre less. Therefore, the finish was pretty confusing. I doubt if I will do this race again when there are club organised races for around half the price.
On a positive note, the organisers (Trail Plus) have a great marathon training weekend which I would recommend. Perhaps they should stick to this!!! Date of review: September 16, 2007
In short: A small, friendly race. It was incredibly hot and starting at 11am meant it was tough. Parts of the course are very uneven so despite being a flat course a PB is going to be difficult. Date of review: July 7, 2006
