In short: A lot muddier this year!
In full: Conditions under foot were a lot tougher under foot this year but that adds to the enjoyment.

Its a tough race and generally was organised very smoothly. Only gripes on the organisation was the guy on the quad bike trailer thing after about a mile who went hurtling past/through the runners on a forest track (that could have been nasty) and also near the start where the young marshall stood oblivious as about 20 of us took a wrong turn down a steep (but apparently marked) path only to be shouted back after a minute or two by another marshall further on adding a few minutes to the time and leaving us alot further back on congested tracks.

One other bug bear - could iPods be banned as runners couldn't hear others approaching them despite calling meaning little alternative than to head off the trail to get round.

Other than these very good, including the excellent goodie bag and the very genuine 'well dones' from Mike Gratton at the end.

In short: The opening 2 miles don't get any easier do they?
In full: Enjoyed this today. Third time I've done it and its a well organised race with a net descent but mainly uphill for the first 2 miles.

Very good t-shirt at the finish - even better than last year's!

Well done Horsforth Harriers.

In short: My legs hurt
In full: This is well worth doing.

That said it was far, far harder than I'd expected and whilst I didn't push it too much (finished over 30 minutes outside my road PB)my calves and glutes were still stiff and sore this morning.

£20 entry seems steep but the goodie bag was very good - SiS gels, water bottle, couple of bars, drinks, water, pen etc and there was also a Salomon technical running t-shirt. In other words it more than paid for itself.

In full: Really enjoyed this race.

Very well organised at start and finish, large number of friendly, supportive marshalls, flat as a pancake, a free massage at the end and (considering it was ran through two small villages) very enthusiastically supported by the local people.

Only slight gripe is that the last mile seemed to measure long by most people's Garmins but that shouldn't detract from an excellent event.

Well done to Selby Striders and the supporters from Wistow & Cawood.

In full: Plusses - good organisation on the day, good crowd support, reasonable goodie bag, t-shirt seems reasonable quality, very inclusive for participants of all abilities.

Downers - not receiving my pack in the post, very expensive, uninspiring course and the steep downhill at the start and steep uphill for the last kilometre mean this isn't really the flat course its advertised as.

In short: Well done Spectrum Striders!
In full: The course twists and turns a bit and the 3 climbs are longer than you might have expected but this is still a definite pb course.

Really well organised before, during and after the race.

Support was a bit spartan for the most part (the first half is mainly through a business park) but there was a really good straight flat finish with excellent support.

The towel was a very good and practical momento, and the ladies seemed delighted with the flowers they received in addition - a nice touch.

Well worth doing.
