In short: Great race, well organised and nice t-shirt In full: The only gripe I had was the bottleneck just 50 meters after crossing the start line. However once underway a great route, great marshalling and support from local people. Very slick finish area with goody bags complete with t-shirt,medal and chocolate bar. Plenty of water and sports drinks along the route and at the finish area. Date of review: May 14, 2012

In short: A great run for fun on Boxing Day - fancy dress optional In full: Muddy, hilly, great crowds and marshalls. A nice t-shirt for finishers. Only gripe was the queue to get over the stiles but didnt detract from the great atmosphere. Will be back again next year, already thinking what to dress up as.... Date of review: January 3, 2012

In short: Fabulous race, challenging hills & great organisation In full: Very well organised - plenty of car parking, toilets, the number collection was very quick and lots of encouraging marshalls on route. Great course mainly on road but the first and last part on stony, wooded area. The finish in the courtyard of Ripley Castle is fantastic with the final runup surrounded by cheering spectators. The chocolate filled goody bag, water and superb technical t-shirt were also well received. Well done to Nidd Valley Road Runners for the organisation. Date of review: November 7, 2011

In short: Tough and challenging but I'll be back! In full: Hilly, boggy, muddy - this is what was promised and it delivered! The organisation was great, the marshalls at the checkpoints were all very encouraging and handing out biscuits, cake and bananas. A good quality long sleeve technical t-shirt for all finishers and an instant printout of checkpoint splits with indication of your finishing position. Lots of parking at the school for a donation, which we were happy to support. Most of the course marked out, someone had been very busy with their little arrow stickers, we missed a couple but quickly got back on track, but it would be beneficial to reccy the route beforehand as suggested by the organisers. Will be back next year... Date of review: September 13, 2011

In short: Great race, lovely route & well organised In full: This was only the 2nd year this race has been done, however apart from the queue for numbers, perhaps next year this could be broken down into alpabetical sub groups to speed up the process, the organisation was spot on. The only gripe - we didnt hear the countdown to the start, so it was a bit of a surprise when everyone just started running! Lovely setting in a typically English village with a duck pond on the village green, bbq & other refreshment stalls, cricket in the next field. Plenty of parking too and a short walk to the start/finish on the village green. Date of review: August 25, 2011
