In short: The most fun I ever had
In full: I'm still grinning 2 days on. I've never been so muddy or had so much fun. Great course, good obstacles, enthusiastic marshalls with a sense of humour. Doing it again in October!

In short: Muddy, cold, fun and friendly
In full: The mud made last year's event seem like a walk in the park! Really great fun, just bring a massive coat and some clean shoes and socks for after. A hot bath never felt so good!
Although tough fitness wise, the cycling isn't that technical so it's a great off-road duathlon for a novice (like me!)

In short: Challenging but fun
In full: This was my first duathlon and I was quite daunted by the prospect of trying to handly my bike in the mud. However, we had glorious weather on the day and little rain in the run up, so there was just enough mud for a few giggles. I really enjoyed the route and the distance was just right. Everyone was very friendly, I ended up with company on both legs of the run which really helped. Brilliant encouraging marshalls at every point I needed one - thanks to all of them, they must have got chilly! I would definitely do this again.

In short: My first race and thoroughly enjoyed it
In full: I really enjoyed this race. It wasn't as hilly as I expected, which was a good thing for me in these early days of running!. Some of the marshalls were fantastic (although some were there in body only). Well signposted and I imagine the scenery would have been good if I hadn't been so focused on my feet. Only real criticism is that we had a little trouble finding it - the road name was slightly wrong on the instructions and there was no postcode. Will run it again next year.

In short: Great fun - will do it again next year
In full: This was my first race and was my incentive to start running from scratch. I did 8 weeks training and am really pleased to have finished in 28:40. The atmosphere was great - it's really inspiring to run for such a good cause. And Tilgate park is a lovely place to run. I'm completely converted and have already entered another race! Fab.
